Objectives
The alumni of the Uniandes program of Systems and Computing Engineering shall be able to:
- Seize the opportunities offered by information and communication technologies tending to increase the living standards, transforming the organizations and the society;
- Undertake to continuously innovate and ensure quality in their professional practice;
- Contribute to an international successful performance of the national information technology industry;
- Apply their knowledge with responsibility, autonomy, and open-mindness.
The following activities and processes are carried out throughout the Uniandes program of Systems and Computing Engineering:
- Skills to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering.
- Abilities to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and construe data.
- Abilities to design a system or process that meet the expected needs bearing in mind the actual economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health, safety, manufacturing and sustainability restrictions.
- Abilities to work in multidisciplinary working teams.
- Abilities to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.
- Understanding the ethical and professional responsibilities.
- Abilities to communicate in an effective manner.
- The necessary training to understand the impact of engineering solutions within a global, economic, environmental and social context.
- Recognizing the need to develop a continuous learning capacity throughout life and the necessary skills thereof.
- Knowledge of contemporary issues.
- Abilities to use modern Software Engineering techniques, skills and tools necessary to Engineering practices.
