DECA - Office of the Dean of Students
Social practice is a free election course that offers University students the opportunity, of any career and that have completed the first semester, to develop abilities and competencies by providing a service within the academic role, interacting with different population sectors of the city. This course is a three (3) credit course and its scoring is alphabetical for those students that must take it as a requirement for other courses (approved / not approved), but does not affect the scoring average of the student. The social practice course is open for any student of the university for whom it is not a requirement but wishes to take it, and when doing it for the first time he/she will receive a numerical scoring.

This course must be registered for each semester studied within the exchange program, therefore, if the student pursues two exchange semesters, he/she shall enroll in the course and pay 10% of the Los Andes tuition in each semester.

This seminar format course is proposed as an academic space, it seeks understanding the relationship between planning and urban project through its analysis in four International urban planning figures that have served as urban models for Colombia’s urbanism construction (City models, Plans, procedures, instruments) during the second half of the 20th Century in particular.
