The students of the Master in Finances at the School of Management are people with remarkable intellectual and academic capacities, who have professional experience and an enormous potential to lead and manage innovative, profitable and effective financial strategies.
In particular, the applicants to the program of Master in Finances are professionals with at least two (2) years work experience, seeking to project themselves in the area of finances and to have an impact on their corporate environments, through a rigorous academic training and the opportunity to share multiple experiences and insights.
Objectives
The Master's degree in Finance is a formal origran aimed at the development of skills and competences of its participants to successfully assume executive positions in the area of finances. With this perspective, this program has been conceived as an interrelated set of knowledge and basic tools in finances, which provides its participants with a dynamic thinking structure and skills to identify and solve problems in the area of finances. Through this Master's degree program, the students will:
- Acquire basic and relevant knowledge in the area of organizational finances, assimilating and internalizing them for their further application in real cases and projects.
- It concentrates on theoretical knowledge and new financial techniques for project planning, development, and evaluation.
- Study various milieu facs, and asses the risk that affects financial decisions to thus understand the impact derived from political, economic and social factors on the organization's baseline.
- Critically analyze the development and behavior of the stock market and of corporate finances in Colombia, and their interrelation with the international financial sector.
- Develop and strengthen the use of methods, applications, and quantitative tools for problem identification and solving.
- Develop skills for business decision making.
- Acquire the discipline of individual and continuous learning.
- Develop and consolidate dynamics of interpersonal behavior, through team work and effective communication.
- Raise awareness about the ethical implications and social responsibility of their decisions.
