Interdisciplinary Development Studies Option

Description

This Option aims at providing students with a theoretic and empirical overview of the different approaches, problems, dimensions and challenges of development. In addition, it attempts to offer knowledge and training in the use of instruments to measure, analyze and participate in development management.

Objectives

  1. A theoretic and empirical overview of the different approaches, problems, dimensions and challenges of development.
  2. The knowledge and practice of instruments to mediate, analyze and participate in development management.
  3. The study of topics and processes relating to development management: Public management; gender and identities; employment and social development; public policies; democracy and participation; social movements; environment and development; among others
  4. A theoretic and practical reflection on development management based on professional practice.

Program Structure

It is made up of four courses, two mandatory courses (6 credits) and two elective courses (6 credits), and an Internship in development management (3 credits) for a total of 15 credits.
