This course studies the information systems that provide support in the decision-making processes. In particular we will study the problems of Data Warehouses with its complement the Data Mining along with its corresponding methodologies and tools of design and implementation from the data-base perspective.

Additional conferences to complete the formation of students on some current affair issues not treated during the specialization.

One of the objectives of this course is to introduce and present the most recent ideas, techniques and methodologies in the areas of information technology and infrastructure management and governance. At the same time, students will be capable of understanding the latest problematic relative to the use of technology by organizations and will be able, then , to undertake projects on Risk Analysis or Continuity Planning. Likewise, they may be able to structure the IT area of an organization by following world class methodologies, standards and practices.

This course attempts to introduce students in the use of Systems Dynamics as a tool to analyze and understand the behavior of systems, social systems in particular, in order to be more effective in policy design and the possibility of aiming this process toward organizational learning.

This course studies the way innovative products are developed supporting the technological strategy of the organization, and the way organizational knowledge is generated, transferred and managed. Innovative uses of technology are analyzed, via invited lecturers, as part of the solution of business problems in Colombia and in the world. The course is oriented more to methods used to develop innovative products than to knowledge of the technology itself. Methods to execute the strategy of the organization are studied via operations models.

A foundation for analysis (a structure of thought), both historical and functional, with respect to leadership abilities is sought here and which a person with executive or leadership responsibilities must currently have. Emphasis is made on models of thinking and mental schemes which condition the conduct of individuals and on the need to acknowledge the complexity from which today’s organizations operate. These courses highlight, both in a hands-on as well as conceptual manner, certain key aspects of four of the abilities required in a manager: critical thinking, ability to negotiate, creativity and leadership.

The course provides students with information about algorithmic modeling and design in the first course on network optimization. The course has an approach in mathematical programming, as a natural continuation of a second course on linear optimization. Some topics have a combinatory approach, thus serving as a primary course in the area of combinatory optimization. Network optimization can be applied to different areas, such as: transportation networks, communication networks, capital budgeting, project programming, equipment maintenance and replacement, production programming, among others

The objective of this course is to present a change in the traditional marketing model implemented by the companies. It also presents mathematical models used in relationship marketing and a method to define the company´s CRM strategy.

This course presents methodologies and tools suitable to support rational decision-making processes in the organizations. Moreover, it analyzes a set of cases and problems related to actual situations to be reviewed and solved by using some modeling and analytical tools studied throughout the course.

The Final Project is intended to apply the knowledge acquired in the Minor Solution of Information Systems Problems in the organizations. The problem may be related to both the technological and organizational dimensions of information systems. Similarly, it may be related to a problem at corporate level or specifically to the area of information systems.
