Objectives

Contribute to the training of lawyers for professional practice, law research and analysis from an interdisciplinary perspective, providing conceptual, hermeneutical and argumentative tools, that allow students to study law from a broad and deep cultural horizon.

Study Plan

The Law Program is structured in three cycles:

  • Contextualization cycle
  • Basic education cycle
  • Concentration cycle

Contextualization

Students are formed within an interdisciplinary approach, which enables them to address issues in a contextualized fashion, that is, with a holistic learning vision of Law. (This cycle covers the first two semesters of the law program).

Basic Juridical Education

Intended to identify the principles and basic rules of Colombian Law in the different areas of Law. At the same time, it integrates, structures and relates legal concepts, and generates skills among students to solve legal issues. (This cycle is made up of 28 subjects and extends through 5.5 semesters, i.e. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and half of 8).

Concentration

Students design their own syllabus according to their concentration interests. The different areas guarantee a varied offer of courses, so that students can have access to new knowledge and integrate it with their previous education. In this cycle, the students also opt for the way in which they will develop their graduation project or Guided Research. Finally, during the last two semesters of this cycle and of the career, students get to undertake their Law Firm Internship. (This Cycle encompasses 6 School courses and the last 2.5 semesters of the career).
