Spanish Requirement
The Universidad de los Andes considers that the knowledge and appreciation of Spanish is one of the core elements for educating Uniandes professionals. To fulfill this need, the University has designed special Spanish courses, given by the departments of Humanities and Literature and Languages and Sociocultural Studies.
Every student who has obtained a score of less than 60 points in the ICFES language proficiency test must take the Spanish course. This requirement must be fulfilled prior to finalizing the fourth semester of the career. It is worth three (3) credits and the grade is qualitative: A to pass and R to fail. Students failing the course must repeat it.
Should it be necessary for you to take this course, it is indispensable to register for one of the following subjects during your fourth semester, at the latest:
HUMA 1300 - Spanish
LENG 1501 - Spanish
