This option intends the student to put into practice the skills he/she has gained during the undergraduate studies as to present a research problem and solving it. We expect the degree monograph to have a clear formulation of the problem regarded as interesting to the Political Sciences, at the same time, it shall display an adequate knowledge on the literature and it shall also have a research approach whose realization is feasible in one academic semester with the corresponding hours of classes and 6 credits.

The goal of the research is to have the student practicing the skills he/she has gained in the undergraduate studies by registering his/her degree project within a broader research, led and conceived by a professor member of the department.

The main objective of this course is to develop theoretical and analytic skills of the student regarding specific problems on international relations. For the purpose of developing this objective, the course will focus on the development and analysis of an area of specific problem in the domain of international relations that is to be established by the corresponding professor.

In this course we intend to develop the analytical thinking of the student on Colombia´s politics, as well as the relation of problems with the main subsystems (economic, social, environmental and cognitive).

The objective of this seminar is to conduct a research project, which, should the student prefer, may become his/her degree project (monograph). A research project is a document reflecting a purpose of knowledge and the way to execute it. It is a key skill in the training of a Political Scientist and anyone who studies social sciences. During this semester, the students design their project by different stages that, at the end, are assembled within a single document. This work includes: the formulation of a research problem, the development of a theoretical framework, the status of the issue to be studied, the determination of the methodology and the drafting of a schedule and budget for the research.

This is a code that must be registered when registering the code of the Degree Project (Degree Monograph).

The practice is geared to undergraduate students and it may be developed in any enterprise or private/public institution at local, regional, national or international level. The goal is to have a formative practice, it is a complement of the academic lessons, and therefore, it is given academic credits. They shall have a minimum duration of four (04) months and maximum of six (06).

The objective of the Degree practice is to have the student using the knowledge gained on an Institution registered in the Centro de Trajectories Profesional of the University, as a future Political Scientist. The chores the student will be linked to must be related to the degree.

With the teaching practice the goal is to make the student put into practice the skills and knowledge he/she has gained on the undergraduate studies by having the responsibility of teaching a course, related to political sciences, in one of the schools of the Asociacion Alianza Educativa, or in any other that may be approved by the department, or any school the University has agreements with. The practice is conducted during a semester with full-time dedication.
