MEDI-1202 Principles of Social Medicine
The Social Medicine course is a part of the curriculum of the Social Medicine area in medical school. Students in this course are expected to acquire theoretical – basic hands-on, allowing them to identify, recognize, and understand some of the components in the health-sickness process, using as reference the various approaches to the concepts of health, promotion, prevention, as well as a primary health attention strategy. During the course, students will make a house call which will aid in both the exploration of, as well as the analysis of all these elements and situations which generate risk or favor the health of patients and their families for purposes of preparing an intervention proposal which is directed at improving their health conditions.
