MEDI-1308 Immunology

The current development and advances in immunology, along with the multiple applications in clinical practices, laboratory, therapeutics and research have made it necessary for students of medicine to delve into this area of medical sciences early on in their training. Understanding immunology not only as a system of defense against external aggressions, but also as a participant in pathological processes has led to the discovery of diagnostic methods and new forms of therapy. This course is an introduction to basic immunology as a natural as well as specific response. By the end of the course, students will be capable of understanding the basic immunological phenomena and the general mechanisms that usually operate in the human immune system.
