MEDI-3202 Surgical Subspecialties

A course in Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, and Otorhinolaryngology including theory and practice for seventh semester medical students. The course allows the students to develop the competencies necessary to understand, identify, and treat patients (initial management) with prevalent surgical pathology.   Its general objective is to develop the competencies and skills necessary for the identification of the most frequent surgical pathologies, proposal of proper treatment, and the establishment of follow-up plans to permit evaluation of treatment response. In addition, the students will develop the ability to provide attention to surgical patients with an integrated, professional focus, with scientific quality.
