MEDI-3306 Forensics and Forensic Science

The contents of the Forensics and Forensic Science course will be delivered through lectures (Introduction to Forensics and expert evidence), problem-based learning (presentation of forensic cases for discussion and resolution on the part of students), Internships in forensics in the offices of the National Institute of Forensics and Forensic Science, Internships for medical-legal autopsies in the Institute’s morgue and in basic units. Students will be capable of: preparing an expert opinion, performing clinical reports, preparing death certificates, properly directing and guiding the handling of medical evidence, defining the medical-legal aspects related with perinatal death, legal abortion, criminal abortion, professional confidentiality, classify the types of medical, criminal, civil, ethical, administrative and labor responsibility.
