Introductory course of the program of medicine in which students become familiar with the values, personal rigor and commitment required to practice Medicine. The course consists of two modules: 1) hospital experiences at the Fundación Santafe de Bogota University Hospital, and 2) basic CPR training through the American Heart Association´s course "heartsaver".

A comprehensive understanding of the organism´s normal function is the basis of medicine. "Physiology is the dynamic study of life ". In this course, students learn and understand the vital functions of living organisms, their organs, cells and molecules, and their mediating mechanisms. Three major principles that help student achieve this understanding are: 1. The vital role played by the genome. 2. The concept of "inner milleu" "organic liquid", 3. The homeostasis mechanisms that control vital parameters.
