Universidad de los Andes is located in the downtown area of Bogotá (capital city of Colombia) in an area of more than eleven hectares. Given its strategic location, the Uniandino campus has contributed to promoting the urban development in the sector by providing an academic and cultural component in a zone known as historical center and, therefore, it represents the fundamental context, not only for the city, but for Colombia.
Since its foundation in 1948, Universidad de los Andes was located in a sector classified as an industrial zone since the XIX century. Therefore, its campus has been developed using pre-existing manufacturing structures to construct new buildings.
