Art Option

Description

The Art Option offers students three categories:

  • General Art
  • Electronic Mediums and Time Arts -MEAT-
  • Plastic Arts.

Objectives

Provide students with a global view of the arts and enable them to get to know the different disciplines in this field and the possibility of becoming aware of contemporaneous artistic processes.

Program Structure

Students must take 6 courses to complete 18 credits depending on the category chosen.

Plastic Arts Program

Description

The option is aimed at all the students of the university who can choose the courses of this program from among an established sequence.

Objectives

This Option is meant to familiarize students with the world of shapes, their perception and creation. It presents a diverse set of perspectives and approaches to plastic arts problems by exploring a range of attitudes, disciplines and methods.

The Option is made up of six courses (18 credits), distributed as follows: four mandatory courses (12 credits) and two elective courses (6 credits).

The courses Basic Plastic Arts Workshop 1 (ARTE 1100) and Basic Plastic Arts Workshop 2 (ARTE 1101) are prerequisites for all the elective courses, except for the Image Structure course (ARTE 1102). Architecture studens may take the following as elective courses: Drawing of the Human Body-Architecture (ARTE 2106) and Spatial Construction Drawing -Architecture (ARTE 2107).

Electronic and Time Arts Program

Description

The option is aimed at all the students of the university who can choose the courses of this program from among an established sequence.

Objectives

This program introduces students in the new technologies with a critical awareness of their impact on culture and instills in them an interest in these new expressions of art.

The Option is made up of six courses (18 credits), distributed as follows: four mandatory courses (12 credits) and two elective courses (6 credits).
