IELE-2100 Elements of electrical systems
The course presents basic theory of electromechanical energy conversion which includes basic concepts of active and reactive power, single-phase and three-phase transformers, concepts of induction machines and the synchronous machine. Additionally, the course introduces the students to basic concepts of high voltage transmission lines and their models. Then, power system representations per unit and in matrix form are analyzed. Technical fundamentals in power systems are presented: power flow in steady state and current computation of short circuit. The course includes basic laboratory practices and handling of computational tools to simulate a power system in steady state.,English,-
