ADMI-2402 Optimization

This course is orientated towards the development of abilities to use quantitative models in Management, basically those which influence operations, logistics and decision-taking. In addition to the aim of the course being to teach algorithms, it emphasises the development of decision-taking abilities based on the results produced by the models and discussion of the pertinent nature of the models looked considered when applied to real conditions. Some of the subjects covered are: description of operational research, linear programming, transport and transhipment, logistics and inventories. The SOLVER computational module is used for these subjects. The pertinence of the models and the concepts discussed when applied to real conditions, with reference to Colombian cases and in the international context, are examined.
