This course completes the training received in the three previous courses in the area of finance and closes the basic cycle on this subject. After this course, the student is expected to be able to structure the financing strategy of an investment project, using the different sources of financing from the capitals and money markets. The course is essentially comprised of two main blocks: depth study of the basic aspects of corporate finance and the most important distinctive aspects of a capitals market. This course is orientated towards the development of abilities to use quantitative models in Management, basically those which influence operations, logistics and decision-taking. In addition to the aim of the course being to teach algorithms, it emphasises the development of decision-taking abilities based on the results produced by the models and discussion of the pertinent nature of the models looked considered when applied to real conditions. Some of the subjects covered are: description of operational research, linear programming, transport and transhipment, logistics and inventories. The SOLVER computational module is used for these subjects. The pertinence of the models and the concepts discussed when applied to real conditions, with reference to Colombian cases and in the international context, are examined.
