IELE-4202 Sensors and Microsystems
Current developments in the interaction of electronic and mechanical elements in micrometric scales have generated the microsystem concept (MST) /MEMS (micro-electromechanical system). The course is aimed at familiarizing the student with basic terms and concepts at the level of physical-mechanical parameters escalation, top-down manufacture simulation, CAD tools and applications management in the microsystems area. Tutorial work will be developed for the design of mechanical, electric, magnetic and thermal actuators that will enable the student to gain experience in description and multi-physical design of MST, using the ANSYS tool. At the end of the course, the student will have the opportunity to concentrate on a research Project.
