CPOL 2240 Introducción Estudios de Desarrollo y Cooperación Internacional
Development has been a major goal of and rationale for power and public action in countries in the global South. The practices of development have evolved since its invention in the aftermath of World War Two. The “Third World” has changed and followed different paths and trajectories. In the past years, its economic and political realities are increasingly fragmented. In parallel, international cooperation has become a major source of development financing, and has transformed to include humanitarian and security objectives.
