Art Department
The Department of Art, via its undergraduate program, seeks to provide students with theoretical, technical, and critical tools that enable them to set up a personal approximation to artistic practices. The underlying emphasis of the program lies in providing students with an educational experience based on an interdisciplinary preparation in the fields of artistic creation, its techniques, and the history and theory of art.
The undergraduate program of Art aspires to lay the plans for graduate studies at specialization and master's degree levels. This objective started becoming a reality in 2001 when the Multimedia Creation Specialization opened and in 2006 with the History and Theory of Art Specialization. The Department is currently in the process of consolidating other proposals for the creation of graduate programs.
