Music Department

Established in 1990, the Music Department offers its students an undergraduate program that includes the possibility of pursuing majors, minors, and becoming a general musician. It also has a children's and youth training program, aimed at primary and secondary school students.

In addition to their teaching work, the professors are in charge of research processes in the recovery of musical heritage, musical theory and analysis, development of new technologies for teaching and artistic production in the areas of composition and instrument.

The Music Department promotes humanistic and aesthetic awareness. Through reflection and critical analysis as the foundations of research and creative activity, it provides rigorous training in the disciplines that comprise it and develops the techniques, abilities and skills that support creative processes that impact society.

This purpose is reflected in its mission: the training of professional musicians with an excellent academic level, who develop their interests through the exercise of analysis, research, creation, production or musical interpretation, from a broad humanistic, theoretical and technical perspective. Its foundation will allow continuous learning and greater development of their skills and abilities, as well as the ability to transmit and expand knowledge of the different areas of musical knowledge.
