The Master's degree in Plastic, Electronic and Time Arts offers a favorable context for the development of artistic creation processes that allow the selective or integrated involvement of plastic, electronic and time media (e.g.: pictorial, sculptural, graphic, audiovisual, photographic, electronic, performative, sound media, etc.)
With an experimental approach focused on the student's workshop practice, it allows for the exploration and contrast of various technical and theoretical approaches in these expressive media, critically contextualizing them with current art and culture.
Objectives
- To stimulate the development of artistic creations in plastic, electronic or time media with an experimental approach centered on the student's work project.
- To promote the development of critical awareness in students regarding plastic, electronic and time media and their impact on contemporary art and culture.
Study Plan
The Master's degree has three axes: the workshop, in which the student's project is developed individually and with the accompaniment of a tutor. The axis of tools and concepts, which are specific to the emphasis chosen by the student. Finally, the interdisciplinary workshops and seminars, among which are the seminar common to the entire Faculty, Visions of research and creation, and the electives that the student can take in any program at the University.
To access the degree, the student must present an individual artistic work resulting from his or her research in any medium or set of media, in a collective exhibition.
Areas of Research or Concentration
The Master of Fine Arts in Visual, Electronic and Time Arts is a master's degree oriented towards creation, this means that it is analogous to a research master's degree, but it has a fundamental difference and that is that the main activity of the academic activity revolves around the development of creative projects. In the United States and Europe, this type of master's degree is differentiated by the type of degree that is received. It is called MFA, Master in Fine Arts and indicates a specific modality of knowledge generation different from the Master in Research.
