GLOB2007 Critical Feminist Thinking, Climate Repair and Possible Futures

What do you do when your world starts to fall apart? asks Anna L. Tsing to open her book, where she reflects upon the possibility of life and what is left alive from the capitalist devastation of natural landscapes. Inspired by Tsing’s work, this course invites students to re-imagine and envision climate repair and possible feminist futures. Along with several national and transnational case studies, policy developments and activist solutions offered to the climate crisis, we look at how diverse feminist thinking from the Global Souths and Norths on climate change and repair can be made productive in tackling the ecological catastrophe of our time. Taking an active and creative approach towards climate repair, students are asked to become part of the Global Climate Justice Education Week by creating audiovisual research projects on possible feminist futures and climate repair.
