Studying an MBA Master in Administration is a fundamental step for professionals seeking to develop their knowledge and high-level management skills. The online MBA from the Faculty of Administration of the Universidad de los Andes - Colombia, is designed to develop in the participant the skills to lead and transform organizations in changing and uncertain environments. It also develops their knowledge and managerial skills with a critical, resilient and innovative sense. With a duration of two years, this program adds to the experience of the participants, virtual methodologies that accelerate the learning process in synchronous and asynchronous spaces that encourage reflection.

 

Program attributes

The MBA provides the development of skills, abilities and knowledge that enable management in uncertain environments to generate change, make responsible decisions and connect multiple knowledge and interests to generate sustainable value for diverse interest groups. In particular, it offers:

 

  • Comprehensive view of the areas that make up administration: the MBA provides a broad view of administration, addressing its multiple areas and allowing for reflection on their interaction. You learn about finance, marketing, finance, management, organizations, strategy, technology, supply chain and sustainability.
  • A holistic view of the organization and its influence on the environment: successful management teams look beyond the parts of the organization and analyze how each of the elements connect to achieve synergies. The MBA encourages a broad and critical view of the organization; how different teams and areas interact, and their impact on the industry and the ecosystem.
  • Developing decision-making skills: In a world with multiple data sources, it is necessary to have the criteria to recognize which are relevant, what information is necessary for decision-making, and to have the tools for its analysis. The MBA helps to have a structured view of problems, evaluate their risks, and recognize uncertainty in decision-making processes.
  • Developing responsible and sustainable leadership: Understanding the need to have a positive impact on society, the MBA emphasizes the need to manage multiple interest groups and make decisions that promote the well-being of society while respecting the rights of future generations and the less fortunate.

The online modality offers great flexibility. With clear dates and instructions, and all the resources the participant needs to complete their weekly work, aligning it with the activities of their own agenda.

 

Applicant Profile

The online MBA is designed for professionals who want to reinvent themselves and develop their leadership and management profile through academic experiences and innovative learning methodologies in a virtual and flexible program.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience from the beginning of your degree.
  • Be a professional in any area of knowledge.
  • Sufficient academic skills according to admission exam.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of work experience since graduating from their undergraduate degree.

 

 

Study Plan

The program lasts two years and has 38 credits.

47% of the credits are in the compulsory core courses of the program, which provide knowledge and develop the core skills of the functional areas of administration and management.

24% are problem/project-based learning experiences (we call them Challenges). These experiences seek to expose students to complex problems with multiple stakeholders, where they must use acquired learning and test their skills to arrive at viable and sustainable solutions.

24% of the program is made up of elective courses, which can be taken in related areas to have concentrations in areas of knowledge.

Finally, there is a cross-disciplinary experience in the program where students are supported in developing their leadership and career profile.
