GEOC3015 Advanced Tectonics
This course is designed for the students who have completed the introductory course in Structural Geology and Tectonics, with a program focused on advanced concepts in Tectonics. The course aims to develop a perspective on the complexity of the processes responsible for the formation and evolution of the continental crust during Earth's history. The themes discussed are: continental growth; orogeny and orogens; Precambrian tectonics, and the learning outcomes, present, assess and analyze the evidence and hypotheses related to the processes and components associated with both ancient and present tectonic systems; communication of a synthesis of the processes that operate in diverse tectonic systems, both ancient and modern.
