LENG1116 Ingles 1 - Lenguas y Cultura
This first course offers a holistic approach which helps students sharpen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. In addition, the course includes explicit instruction of grammar and vocabulary skills which the students are expected to use for class assignments and projects. Through the use of a task-assisted approach, the course provides students with opportunities to develop specific competences in the target language in order to perform meaningful activities both inside and outside the classroom. The course also encourages students to participate in technology-based activities which help them to be autonomous and monitor their own learning processes, and which are a crucial component of classwork, homework, and task-based formative and/or summative assessment.
